Jonny graduated from Cardiff University with a 1st class Honours degree in Physiotherapy. In 2017, he joined St Joseph’s Hospital where he continues to work within the outpatient physiotherapy department as a Specialist Senior Physiotherapist diagnosing, treating and rehabilitating a wide range of patients.
Jonny has extensive knowledge in orthopaedics and post-surgical rehabilitation, and has developed a close working relationship with various consultants across South Wales. He has a special interest in the lower limb, in particular complex knee problems.
In 2019 he completed an IRMER qualification which allows direct referral for diagnostic imaging (X-ray, Ultrasound, MRI), as well as a course in Acupuncture which are both useful adjuncts within his clinical practice.
Jonny has worked with Hockey Wales for the past 6 years in a number of roles, and is currently their Lead Physiotherapist, overseeing medical provision to the pathway and performance squads. Within this time he has supported the Senior Womens International team through numerous European Championships, World Cup qualifiers, and most recently the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games as part of the Welsh Medical team.
In 2023, Jonny was selected to be part of the medical team supporting Great Britain at the World University Games in lake Placid, USA. He worked with the GB Students Skiing and Snowboard teams in a year that became GB’s most successful since the games began.
